PEDIGREE
In depth.
SIRE: AL AYAL Aa
Owned and bred by Ariela Arabians.
Ariela Arabians of Israel has a long history of producing a very distinctive marque of the classic Arabian horse, which is not only Straight Egyptian but more than capable of competing on the world stage. Think of Loubna, Badawieh AA and Al Lahab all proudly bred by Chen Kedar and Eliko Khaloon. Al Ayal AA perfectly sums up this style and is one of the most well-travelled and successful Straight Egyptian stallions of the last decades. Chiselled, balanced and harmonious, with quite an air of the 19th-century artwork; for many he is the breed standard brought to life.
Al Ayal AA’s dam The Vision HG, by Thee Desperado was an exquisite black mare bred in the USA who could not stop producing outstanding colts! Her Laheeb son Al Lahab was World Champion Stallion back in 1996, but performing as sires all over the world are many other sons – by several different stallions, Al Maraam, Al Hadiyah AA, Al Raheb AA, Al Wahab AA, Al Hakim and Al Ghazali AA.
His sire Al Ayad was bred in Germany and was not used as a sire until his lease at the age of seven to Ariela Arabians in 2006 and 2007. Sire of just thirty foals in Israel he sired only a few more before his untimely death at ten years old. With six crosses to Hadban Enzahi, plus being a Hadban in strain himself, he provided a welcome outcross to the more frequently encountered American Egyptian pedigrees.

Bred by Aljassimya Farm 2013. Owned by Lilia Lucero.
Sheikh Jassim Bin Khalifa Al Thani’s Aljassimya Farm burst onto the scene with a first World Champion in 2010, the WH Justice daughter CR Jasmeenah. The next move was to lease super sire WH Justice to create the first generation of mares to found the breeding program.
Since that time Aljassmya Farm has become one of the world’s leading Arabian breeders with numerous champions in Qatar, Europe and the USA.
“Jojo” was one of the two fillies retained by Aljassimya Farm after leasing the Wayne Newton mares to be bred to WH Justice. She later tested as CA affected with two copies of the Cerebellar Hypoplasia gene. She is one of the few lucky ones who do not display symptoms but has of course passed on one copy of the gene to Wakil who is a CA Carrier.
After producing two foals for Aljassimya Farm, Wakil and his full sister, she went on to start an endurance career. She competes in the honourable one-person / one-horse tradition of endurance and successfully completed four 55 mile rides in 2023, winning one. Not what you would necessarily expect from a WH Justice daughter – but you could not ask for more if you want to think about including all the historical features that make up Arabian type in a modern pedigree!

Dams Sire: WH JUSTICE
Owned by Catherine and Thierry Kerjean.
WH Justice is known as “The Champion Maker” and has indeed sired many very, very famous Arabian show horses such as World Champions CR Jasmeenah, Bess Fa’izah and the Silver World Champion Shanghai EA. As the first generations got older, he then became equally influential on the dam’s side of the pedigree, with dozens of his daughters producing the next generations of champions.
Aljassimya Farm also took several of his get to US National honours in performance in Western and Hunter Pleasure.
It is difficult not to include him in modern pedigrees, he has had such an influence on global pedigrees, transmitting his own features repeatedly, specifically the low set eye and the wide opening nostril which give him and his offspring that extra touch of irresistible charm !
Now 21 years old he is one of the legendary Arabian stallions of this century.

WAYNE NEWTON’S ARAMUS ARABIANS
Wayne Newton is not only a reknown Las Vegas singer, but one of the world’s most famous Arabian horse breeders. He named his farm after the 1962 stallion Aramus imported from Poland. For many Aramus is still a perfect pin up of the Arabian horse; but he also competed in the days when a show Arabian had more than one talent. He was 1970 US National Champion Halter Stallion and 1972 US National Champion Formal Driving. Wayne also said of his breeding decisions “”I try and at least do something every year for the 4H, ’cause the one thing that I breed into our herd deliberately, and without reservation, is temperament.”
He used a mix of bloodlines to create his perfect horse and many of his greatest champions were descended in female line from a mare imported from Spain Oromana, born in 1960. Combined with another Spanish import GG Samir and Aramus, Oromana’s family produced the 1996 US National and Scottsdale Champion stallion WN Ultimate Star. The latter stallion was by a typical Wayne Newton choice the stallion Blue Sprucetanzeer, of mixed and at the time not necessarily fashionable bloodlines. (although tightly bred to two icons Ansata Ibn Halima and Ferzon). But Wayne liked him, so Wayne used him and as usual got great results.
Also in the early 1990’s Wayne bred two of the nine first crop foals by a two year old colt – who burst onto the stage the following year as Reserve National Champion Stallion Padrons Psyche. All of the horses mentioned above are represented on the dams side of Wakil’s pedigree. The Oromana family has stayed the course and members of this family are found all over the world. Not just WN Ultimate Star, but also the unforgettable WN Fawn Obsession – a daughter of Padrons Psyche who was almost unbeaten for Al Khalediah Farms of KSA. More recently the lovely Aljassimya Farm World Gold and Bronze title holders Minwah and Balada Al Alfabia, who have also already produced a recent major champions: Mona Lisa Aljassimya and Bahi Aljassimya respectively.
Back in Spain this tail female family, descended from the Polish import Kadranka includes the Mendez Moreno World Reserve Champion Mare Orla II, the Mallorcan supersire Bambu – sire of US National Champion Abha Hamir and Karolinenhof’s All Nations Cup Champion Mare Gual Hassika.
It is nice to be able to have a member of this stellar family in the UK !
